D-2 Visa is for International Students who study in Korea. It is given by colleges and universities or academic research institutions established under the Higher Education Act and special laws, plus universities/affiliated language schools meeting Ministry of Justice requirements.
Browse information about universities, their departments, scholarships, tuition, etc, to narrow in on a more specific path. When you're ready, follow the official application process for the university, company, organization, or government service.
Your journey in Korea doesn't end with one application. You also need to secure your visa and set up your journey to Korea.
Start early. Document preparation, translations, certifications, applications, scholarships, and visa procedures can all take time. The most important document to consider is the Bank Statement which is generally required for University and Visa Application, the amount needed is around 9,000 USD for 6-months (usually Korean Languages Studies D-4 visa) or 20,000 USD for 1 year (University Degree Program D-2 visa). Make sure you are ready to show proof of this amount, either in your bank account or your parents.
Additionally, it is important to note that studying in Korea often requires a certain level of the Korean Language. If you want to study the language first in Korea, then the estimated time to reach the needed level is 18 months from level 1 to 6. Usually TOPIK level 3 or 4 is needed to start your degree studies. Always double check with your intended University.
